Well HELLO there bloggie world! Whew! It's SOOOO nice to be back in the
saddle again, I can't even tell you.
This has been ME for the past week...completely out of commission. Don't know where it came from but it hit my like a MACK TRUCK! The very DAY the blog hop ended. What is up with that? Was I exhausted? I didn't think so. And let me tell you, of ALL times of the year to be sick, THIS is so NOT the time! I will also admit, I am the WORST sick person in the world. Only because I get SO impatient....all this sitting around in bed and sleeping and stupid nose blowing....when there's so MUCH to be DONE! And the worst of it was, it just hurt to keep my eyes open, so I couldn't read, was too tired to facebook and tweet....all I could do was watch mindless shows on TV and even THAT made me mad because I was too tired to STITCH!
Is it just me? Or are you this way too when you're sick?
And I thought my HUBBY was bad.
FINALLY...I'd had enough, and no OTC drugs were obviously working, so I went to the doc (or, uh, RN at CVS!) and got some REAL drugs. Thank goodness!
So I'm on the mend and trying to pick up where I left off, because, HOLY COW....we've got another RADIO SHOW to do today!
(good thing I got my voice back...)
That's RIGHT! We're hosting Pat Sloan's Creative Talk Radio again! Click here, to listen in LIVE at 4 PM EST. And if you happen to miss it live, go to the SAME link to download the podcast later. Just WAIT until you see who we're talking to today...a couple of CRAZY quilty gals! Not sure if you caught our updates from Market back in November, but the two quilter's on the show today were part of our "4H club". We'll tell ya all about it on the show, but for now, check out Pat's blog for, yet another embarrassing picture of us AND an intro to our guests!
I think we'll send Pat some GOOD pics of us for Christmas. I tell ya, she just captures us at our best...
SOOOOOO.....
It's official... today, I've JUST decided...

That's right. I'm SO relieved to be outta bed and back on my computer that not only have we PICKED THE BLOG HOP WINNERS...

I can answer all of those at once. NO! Not even close.
But today....
I'm wishing my sweet little girl a HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
She turns 17 today. I'm still trying to figure out how to stop the clocks...she's growing too fast.
Off to bake her favorite treat...chocolate toffee bars.
Have a FABULOUS MONDAY!
I've been sick right along with you. I've never blown my nose so much. I had a special cousin in for the weekend. We had planned this visit for months, and I was sick. But the house was decorated and candy was made. Presents are not bought or wrapped.
ReplyDeleteHoly cow...it's my hubby's birthday today, too!!! Happy birthday to your daughter and I'm glad to know you're on the mend! I'll be listening in at 4PM and thanks for the chance to win your giveaway!!
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to this afternoon's show. I had the sickness earlier in the fall. It kept me in bed for two days. My sympathies to all who get it. Kathie L in Allentown
ReplyDeleteI've been sick, too - got food poisoning Saturday evening from a major restaurant chain (won't mention names!). It was BRUTAL, I tell you! I'm not ready for the holidays.
ReplyDeleteI had a sinus infection a few weeks back. Thankfully I got over it before the Holiday crazyness. I am almost done with Christmas shopping. I have all the stocking stuffers to get, and my youngest is getting a new carseat and a few other little things. I wonder if anyone got anything for ME (other than me)
ReplyDeleteGlad you are feeling better. I think it is the worst when you can't even feel well enough to stitch. Here, people have had the colds and sinus for over a month, it all takes too long to get better. Thanks for the quilt pattern, it looks like a nice one to use up some big pieces of scraps.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you're feeling better! It stinks to be sick at this time of year. It seems like there is never enough time to get everything done as is and then to get sick and be out of commission makes it that much worse. I still have quilts to finish but the store gifts are all bought and waiting to be wrapped. Thanks for the great giveaway!=)
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear you're feeling better. I got hit the day after Thanksgiving...slept until noon and got up for a bit but I had to head back to bed. Ugh! We have the tree up and decorated but that's it. Hubby and I were going to shop this past weekend but we were hit with the "storm of the century". We are still digging out here in MN and now it's -7. At least the sun is shining! Thanks for the opportunity to enter another drawing, you are too generous:)
ReplyDeleteI am so glad you are feeling better! =) I am knocking on wood that I dont get hit by that MAC truck... I have WAYYY too much to finish before Christmas! Thank you for the freebie and for the giveaway! xoxo
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear you are feeling better. My only fear is getting sick right now because I am in the middle of hand quilting a quilt for a customer and it has to be ready in time for Christmas. My fingers are sore just typing this. Won't be able to start any new projects until after the New Year. There were some really neat ones on the blog hop.
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear you're better. I am currently fighting sinus issues. Thank you so much for a lovely quilt pattern and for another great giveaway.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the 'Baby, It’s Cold Outside!' Pattern. It is such a beautiful quilt! Brrr it is cold here in Georgia today so a perfect quilt pattern for today. We had a wind chill of 3 degrees this morning. Very unusual for us! I hope you are feeling better - not good to get the crud around Christmas time.
ReplyDeleteTake care of yourself and Merry Christmas to you and yours!
Glad to hear your better and I hope your daughter doesn't get it for her birthday. Love the snuggly quilt pattern. Thank you! Stay well and have a wonderful Christmas :)
ReplyDeleteGlad you're felling better. Thanks for the great pattern. I have a lot of flannel to use up. This will be great. Have a Merry Christmas!
ReplyDeleteNope, not even one done for me either. Take care and God bless, Cory
ReplyDeleteOh ick ~ I'm so sorry you've been sick. Don't worry, I won't continue rhyming for the rest of my post today. First ~ Happy Birthday to your very pretty daughter. I wished for the time stopping clock years ago for my own children but I never did find it myself. They are all out of the house and two are out of the house for their 2nd time. LOL
ReplyDeleteI am glad to hear you are feeling better because, yes, this is not the time of the year to be sick. If it makes you feel better I'm as behind as you are myself because I had hand surgery in November in two places on my dominant hand. :( I couldn't do important things which won't be explained any further than that, much less even think about sewing or card writing or wrapping anything. In fact, we have a tree up and my wonderful hubby put lights on it but that's all that got done. It's very pretty with just lights. Right? LOL
so glad you are on the mend. Ready for Christmas? Not even close...oh well, it will come regardless and my family will share it with me....and that's what is really important. Claire
ReplyDeleteI haven't gotten sick for a long while and I don't want to. I think I'll just stay home and watch the rain melt away the last of the white stuff on the ground. Yeah! Another giveaway? Count me in. Thank you. ~Kathleen
ReplyDeleteListened to you guys last week. You did great! Can't wait to listen to today's show too.
ReplyDeleteLuv ya gals! Happy to read y'all are on the upswing to healthiness (is that a real word?;) I'm off to listen to today's radio....thanks for this extra giveaway, I know I;m sure to win ;) Jackie in NC
ReplyDeleteI love the quilt pattern...although it is 80 degrees here in So Cal, so "Baby, it's cold outside" doesn't really pertain to us!! Would love to be involved in another contest...always love to win stuff!! Thanks!!
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear you were under the weather, but last week was so brutally cold...you didn't miss too much.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the quilt pattern. I was looking at the apron pattern yesterday and trying to figure out what I had in my stash that I could use.
Merry Christmas!
Kim
Nothing nicer to feel like you are back on the way up :) Glad you're feeling better! Thanks for the freebie and the giveaway too!
ReplyDeleteNope not ready, mild panic setting in! Yikes!
Wow, I won, thank you so much. The quilt pattern is wonderful thank you for that also. I wish we could hold back time, just hug them every chance you get. Happy Birthday to your baby.
ReplyDeleteGlad you are feeling better. I hate it when I can't even stitch.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to your beautiful daughter. My youngest DD turns 23 tomorrow. Howdidthat happen???
Stay healthy. I have done no decorating at all, but I hope to get on it tomorrow.
I usually get 1 or 2 colds each winter but I can't remember the last time I was sick like you just were. YUCK! But most of all it would make me MAD!
ReplyDeleteI've got my xmas shopping done, but no tree up & no cards sent. Been trying to finish up 4 small wall quilts that need to be mailed. Everything else is on hold until then. Merry Christmas & thanks for the chance.
Glad you are feeling better. Looks like I have the same illness. I can handle reading the computer better than the sound of TV. Happy birthday to your sweet daughter. Our newborn grandniece turned 4 days old tonight. Bet she grows up too fast too. We have done very little decorating, no cards, and finished the little shopping we need to do. I was a long time 4-H'r Head Heart Health and Hands. Take care and please enter me into this drawing.
ReplyDeleteI do know how you feel, I am about to go nuts. I can do some stitching, but slow going and as far as gifts this year, will be lots of gift certificates and I hate doing that, love shopping for people.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to your daughter!
Debbie
So sorry to hear you have been sick. Hope all the germies are gone soon!
ReplyDeleteI have been making hand dipped chocolates and trying to stay warm!
Happy birthday to your daughter, too!
Sandy A
Hubby's birthday tomorrow, toss up between spice cake and cheese cake,Mmm.
ReplyDeleteKids grow up fast, it's hard to let them grow up.
Not done Xmas shopping, nothing wrapped, no baking done, tomorrow I will start
And finish it all. Thanks for theb ree pattern, I'm going to check it out now. Would love to get sewing.
Oh, so glad your are feeling better 8-) I was sick for 3 weeks in Sept--got it out of the way before the holidays. Thanks for the cute pdf! Happy Birthday to your dear daughter.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the new quilt pattern. It would be a good one for those chunks of Xmas fabric I don't want to cut into little tiny pieces. Glad you're feeling better.
ReplyDeleteKris
I'm not a "happy" sick when I get sick. It's every man for themselves while I am out of commission. I'm glad you're back on the mend....
ReplyDeleteAs per every year I get the Christmas spirit about a week before Christmas and don't manage to get a quarter or what I decide I want to do done. I do have a few decorations up, I've made Christmas cake and I have about half my presents bought, so I'm doing okay. We've all had a stomach flu and that is enough of that business for this year.
ReplyDeleteI had the "crud" as well - not even remotely fun!!! Glad you are feeling better now, I'm on some antibiotics to finish clearing things up here.
ReplyDeleteOkay, let's see..
Christmas cards = 90% done
Presents = 75 % made/done
Shopping = forgetaboutit!! LOL
(Gotta work on that one) :)
Glad you are feeling better. There is never a good time to get sick, but at this time of year that's just not fun. I'm planning to wrap presents today and I've already done a little baking and decorated the house. Thanks for the cute quilt pattern.
ReplyDeleteCongrats to the winners and a very happy birthday to your daughter. Thank you for the new opportunity to win!
ReplyDeleteI'm feeling pretty good about the gift situation - I have almost everything, just some vrafting and wrapping left to do.
Congrats to the winners!
ReplyDeleteAre you going to share the recipe for chocolate toffee bars with us??? Please!!
Lizzie B's, thanks for the quilt pattern. I could not have come at a better time. My neighbor had to move her mom into assitedliving just before Thanksgiving. While cleaning out her mom's house she came across some 1970's Christmas fabric that she brought over to me to see if I wanted it. I had decided that I would use them to make her a quilt for next Christmas because I just didn't have time to do one now. And then you posted that super cute and super quick pattern and I will have her quilt finished by the weekend. Thanks for being so generous!
ReplyDeleteSue
Sorry to hear you were sick. So far I've dodged the illnesses going around. I've gotten a big part of my shopping done, haven't wrapped a thing, and haven't touched the cards yet. The tree is up with about 10 ornaments on it - hoping I get that done tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteHope you have a merry Christmas!
Sorry that you were sick. We have had a lot of things going around here also. I am Sherry in Washington State and I am so excited about winning your giveaway. Thanks also for the new pattern, you are so generous. Merry Christmas!
